We've been taking our rambunctious lab mix here for the last five years. Are they a bit more expensive than others places in town? Yes. But they make up for it in terms of quality. All of the staff are professional and caring, and have always treated our dog as if he was one of their own.
I've recently taken my pets to Pioneer and I was so pleased with Dr. Wood and his staff. The staff are professional yet maintain a very personable atmosphere. Dr. Wood is extremely knowledgeable and shares information on laymen terms. He is forthright, when needed, which I love! He obviously cares about our pets which shows in his interaction with them. By far the best veterinarian I've used.
I ended up here because my regular vet (Dog & Cat Clinic) was booked solid on a Saturday, and my newly adopted 10yo cat desperately needed to be seen. Starting with the gentleman on the phone, I was treated with an extraordinary amount of professionalism and courtesy to include being greeted at the door and immediately escorted in the exam room. I was so impressed to see that dogs & cats get different entrances, waiting areas AND exam rooms which must feel like such a luxury for my nervous cat who doesn't love dogs. Dr. Wood was excellent to both me and my cat, picked up on a few things that were missed by my regular vet only 5 days prior, and answered ALL of my questions, which was a lot. He spent more time educating me than any vet has before. The whole staff chatted with me about their own cats, which was cool. I am so grateful and will be taking both of my cats to this office for their routine care from now on.
I love that I can get my dog in very quickly and she adores the people who work there.
Dr. Wood and his staff are wonderful! It’s refreshing to visit a vet who is thorough and knowledgeable without feeling nickeled and dimed to death. We are a military family considering an overseas move and Dr. Wood not only knew, but took the time to explain the process of taking our beloved golden retriever along.
